FERNCLIFF is located on the Saint Lawrence River in scenic Gananoque, Ontario. Only 3 hours' drive from Toronto or Montreal, or 2 hours' drive from Syracuse, New York, the cottage sits at the heart of the Thousand Islands. Vacationers can explore the islands from one of the many tour boats, such as those operated by the Gananoque Boat Line, or simply enjoy the river from the cottage's canoe. Fishing, sailing, scuba-diving, and sight-seeing expeditions (to attractions such as Boldt Castle, at left) are readily available. |
| The town of Gananoque offers a wide range of activities, from hiking and golf to performances at the well-respected Thousand Islands Playhouse. Children enjoy the animal safari, dinosaur exhibit, and putt-putt, while those in search of adventure can try skydiving. Only a few miles away, Kingston is home to numerous museums and galleries, as well as a farmer's market (shown at right) and the historic Fort Henry. | ![]() |
